Spring 2003; Fall 2009: 10 hrs a week, received TES Training at the TTLC, attended all meetings held by Dean Mosier, attended the 3rd Thursdays event created by the CHSS to better inform students about majors and the availability of advising.

Fall 2008-Fall 2010: Elementary Spanish I and II (1401 and 1402): coordinate adjuncts and faculty teaching elementary level Spanish, order the textbooks, organize workshops to help explain aspects of the course work as needed. Evaluate adjuncts and serve as a resource when they need help. Organize search for new textbooks as needed.

Judge,Guided Speaking in Spanish for levels 4 and 5, Sam Rayburn High School, Pasadena, Texas, May 22, 2010:
Volunteered to help judge the foreign language competition held at Sam Rayburn High School. I was assigned Guided Speaking for Spanish levels 4 and 5, which meant I spoke with each student individually, using the questions provided by the high school, and evaluated their spoken Spanish. I then selected the top 3 students in each category, who won medals.
Judge, Purple and White Pageant, Spring 2007:
At the request of student William Díaz, helped judge the Purple and White Pageant, which awards a small scholarship to the winner to help with expenses at UHD.
Participant, Houston Hispanic Forum Career and Education Day, George R. Brown Convention Center, February 4, 2006:
Gave a brief presentation on the Spanish program at the University of Houston-Downtown, and answered prospective students' questions.
Presenter, Salvadoran Poetry with the Smithsonian, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., August 22, 2000:
Prepared and led an interactice discussion with "at risk" high school students on Salvadoran poetry, touching on its historical context and concentrating on the work of Roque Dalton and Claribel Alegría. Created a map activity in which they traced the journeys Roque Dalton made throughout his life.
